The Accelerated Reader program has been used successfully in thousands of schools across the country. The benefits are marked growth in reading comprehension and increased reading scores. The program is designed to improve children's reading and comprehension skills in a computer-based format that is both fun and motivational. The system provides a clear program of goals and recognition that motivates the student to read more. Students are recognized for improving the quality and difficulty of their reading level. It truly inspires them to read more often and to read more challenging books. Perhaps just as valuable, it helps develop a life-long love of reading.

The file is also available as a PDF, if you’d like to download and print a copy to post somewhere. (Note that you’ll need the free Adobe Reader to view this file. In case you don’t already have it, you can click the button below to download a copy). Friday, January 27

Attached are the latest lists of quizzes in the Still A/R system as of January 27, 2006. You’ll need the Acrobat Reader to view these files; you can download the Acrobat Reader for free. Note that these files are fairly large (about half a megabyte) and may take a little while to download, especially over a dial-up link. If you choose to print the lists, you’re going to use a lot of paper…they’re each about 130 pages long. Sorted By Title: Title_20060127.pdf (420 KB) Friday, September 30

Please be patient with us as we rebuild the Still AR website. On
Sunday, September 25, the server where we host the site had a hard
drive failure. Although we were able to save many of the files
from the site, a move to a new server was already planned, so this is
just accelerating that plan.
Over the next few days, I'll get some of the informational pages posted again. We've already started posting reports for A/R Volunteers (you'll receive the new password via email shortly). Before you know it, the site will be up and humming along.
